The 2024 Miami Grand Prix is just a few hours away and ahead of it, Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton has made his intentions crystal clear. Staring his race from eighth place, the Brit wants to go on maximum attack in order to make up a significant number of places.

Lewis Hamilton had a very indifferent qualifying session during yesterday’s running. He was toward the extreme north end by the end of Q2 but when it came to the final session, the W15 just didn’t prove as potent as some of the other cars.

As a result, the 39-year-old has his teammate, George Russell starting one place ahead of him in seventh place.

I don't know if we have the same pace as the guys ahead. We’ll wait and see but we're a little bit closer and further up [from the sprint]. Hopefully, we can try and attack and see if we can get on top of some of these guys in front of us. Lewis Hamilton said in an interview with racingnews365

The Brit has made it known that despite the issues with the lackluster Mercedes W15, he is going to go all out during the 57-lap Miami GP. Hamilton other than his teammate, has got the lights of Sergio Perez, Oscar Piastri, and Lando Norris starting ahead of him.

Mercedes has planned developments on the W15 for the upcoming races

While Lewis Hamilton is fully focused on the task at hand in Miami, his team has quite a few things in the pipeline for the upcoming races. Mercedes’s Trackside engineering director, Andrew Shovlin has made it known that he and the rest of the crew on the German team will focus on making the 2024 challenger consistent.

Mercedes is currently the fourth-fastest team on the 2024 grid.

Over the next four or five races, there are other developments that we're looking at to try and get the car handling a bit more consistently, and a bit less tricky to work with. But that's all coming in the next few [races]. Andre Shovlin said in an interview with Crash.Net

McLaren and Ferrari have significant improvements in comparison to the 2023 F1 season. They are performing consistently and this is one of the reasons why Hamilton and Co. are currently in fourth place in the standings. Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the upcoming races will be extremely crucial from Mercedes’s point of view.
