NFL Insider Drops Major Trade Report About Denver Broncos
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos are ushering in a new era under the leadership of Sean Payton and the front office, who wasted no time initiating significant changes at the start of the offseason.

Notably, the departure of Russell Wilson marked a significant shift, accompanied by absorbing the largest cap hit in NFL history.

Among the roster adjustments, the exits of key players like Jerry Jeudy and Justin Simmons sparked speculation about Courtland Sutton’s future with the team. Rumors of Sutton’s potential departure intensified with reports of him holding out for a new contract, prompting interest from other teams.

However, according to a report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN (via Myles Simmons), the Broncos are firmly committed to retaining Sutton, dispelling any notions of a trade.

Despite the 28-year-old receiver’s decision to skip voluntary offseason activities to leverage negotiations for an extension, Broncos General Manager George Paton affirmed their positive relationship and dismissed talk of parting ways with Sutton, a former second-round pick.

Sutton’s on-field performance underscores his value to the team, as evidenced by his impressive stats from the previous season: 59 receptions, 772 yards, and ten touchdowns.

Over his six-year tenure in the league, he has amassed 298 catches for 4,259 yards and 24 touchdowns, showcasing his consistency and reliability despite challenges posed by the Broncos’ quarterback situation.

Looking ahead, the focus shifts to reaching a consensus on a new contract for Sutton and ensuring the presence of a capable quarterback to capitalize on his talents on the field.

The Denver Broncos still have a lot of work to do, but they appear to be heading in the right direction. They just need to land their franchise quarterback.
